Based on the updated announcement, is the Society planning for the worst case scenario? Have we all members' details to assemble a WhatsApp group or some other method of remaining in touch? I would hope/assume so, but just wanted to check in case any assistance is needed.

Here's where I find out there's been a WhatsApp group for years where everyone talks about me….. 😁

If the site does go it would be great to be included in a BGS WhatsApp group pls. Even though the season is virtually over - for planning for next year etc.

We're doing talking behind close doors, looking at our options moving forward in the worst case scenario.

There isn't a society whatsapp currently. We used to use one during Covid times around organising outings, but we looked to move away from it when we started using Clubnet and came back to the real world.

The tricky part really then becomes the organic growth and sustainability of the society. We usually get some level of drop off and some new members every year. Boards has been the source of that growth in members and just starting off with our current base will ultimately result in a decline I'd imagine.

So we're hoping for the best for boards as a whole, but examine how we can come up with a public forum to maintain our ability to exist moving forwards

    Thanks.

I agree on hoping for the best, but planning for the worst. Fingers crossed.

If I can be of any assistance, I’m happy to help. I’m a software/website dev by trade.

If things do not go our way here, it is vital to the survival of the society, that we continue to use ClubNet as without their help we wouldn’t have developed the society to what it is today. I don’t think many users realise how valuable the service is.

the sub-reddit golf Ireland has 1.5k members, maybe establish a subreddit for society golf Ireland? seems like a good idea regardless of the state of boards.ie to me...
