i read that as "appeared in the competition itself" ie who qualified to appear at the world cup competitions.

Yes this. Teams that have appeared in the tournament not just the final matches. So the total number that have appeared in at least one tournament

So if Ireland had been in all world cups since 1930 (lol imagine) in some manner - that would count as 1? It's not how many times a country has been at the world cup, just how many have ever taken part?

Don't fret too much folks, these are only tie breaker questions, if you are not confident in your answers, avoid tie breaking :D

In the main game, I will be detailing the scoring for each question as it is a bit tricky

I think we are up to about a dozen entries so far.

Maybe tomorrow I will have knock out brackets ready so you can start taunting you opponents

Oh Jaysus I think I'm way out on World Cup question( or maybe all 5😂).

I thought it was only the teams who played in the actual final so I went for a relatively low number but if its every country that has ever been in World Cup I'm miles out🫣

I have no idea how many countries are even in one tournament, let alone since 1930.

I went with numbers that spoke to me, except for Bryan Adams. I think I actually know that one. I haven't googled, I don't think I can handle the shame.

You dont need to get the correct answer, you just need to be closer to the correct answer than the player you are playing against. These are tie breaker questions, you may never need to use them and it's very unlikely you will have to use more than one of them in the game

FWIW, the World Cup question was correctly phrased - I suspect there's a divide between football fans who picked up on that, and non-football fans who were confused.

Not that that's much help getting the correct answer of course!

Will echo others at being smug about knowing the Bryan Adams answer. Thought I'd done better on the others but, eh...

Believe if or not, it wasn't the Bryan Adams question I got right. I was a bit off on that one, totally confused with that and the other big hit of the 90s, had them the wrong away around in my mind...

Should've read the whole thread before submitting answers as I was thinking only the final final for world cup, and it was tough enough to try and mathematically guesstimate that, so will just stick with what I put because if I end up in a tiebreak situation I don't deserve to win anyway... hahaha
