I will be attending a gig in Thomand on Friday night. I will be bringing my caravan (not campervan). I'm booked into Croker's farm, but not sure how easy it will be to get a taxi from it or back to it.

Is there anywhere to park for the night around the city? We'll be on the move early on Saturday morning.

Or if not, whats the taxi situation in Limerick please?

Camper vans sometimes park up along the river on O'Callaghan Strand or near City Hall, you could try there but get there early. The Jetland Shopping Centre or over near Woodies have a surface car park and again you could try there.

Ballyneety is about 10 mins outside the City. Depending on when you arrive there's a bus around 5 that drops to the bus station. Head straight back to town after the gig and you should pick up a taxi for around €30.

Jaysus I'd never heard of Crokers Farm! And I pass Ballyneety daily. Taxi out to Ballyneety will deffo set you back 30-40 squid in the wee hours. But as Adaminho says… there's a bus running to town. Taxi back. Speaking of Ballyneety - you could pop into the Stroller bar for a pint and ask Paul (Bar manager) if you can leave it round the back. Last gig I was at in town - the couple I got chatting to had done this. And if that fails - you still have the Farm up the road.

FYI - Thomond is slap bang beside Ballynanty and Moyross. 2 of the 'rougher' spots in Limerick. And I say that as the son of a Ballynanty man. So I'm not having a go. I personally wouldn't park too close to the stadium.

You could park it in the large car park at Woodies/Dunnes/Petmania (Jetland) - prob a 20min walk to Thomond Park, straight up Brookfield ave. There'll be plenty walking that route.

Where are you coming from? Might be a better option en route?

That's all great information folks. I think I'll see if I can pull in somewhere out of the day and if not, just go to Crokers Farm and deal with the taxi situation!

I'll be coming from Dublin, so ideally, I would be on that side of the city for the journey home

PLAN B… better options coming from Dublin.

You could take a chance and park along Clare street, by the park/art college. Or - just further back - you have the Parkway Shopping centre. I'm from that area of the city. Very large car park.

You come into Limerick on the Dublin road and continue into town. You'd only be up the road from the edge of the city. Locke Bar nearby and then out over the bridge to Thomond Park, a handy 25 min walk with the rest of thew concert goers. Stop in Treaty City or Katie Dalys on the way. Out past King Johns Castle - weather will be fab. Or you have the Curragower / JJ Bowles over the river on the way.

Hey - we decided to stay in Crokers farm after all. I phoned them on Thursday and he said they had a few taxis they use so transport wouldn't be a problem and it wasn't. Great gig and the site was basic but perfect for the amount of time we were in it. Cheers for your help
