I never used one. Just want one for spraying and fertiliser. Any advice on where to start looking, I see a few youtubers using gypsy .

I want to do spraying myself aswell. I sprayed reseeds a few years ago and you can still see where I missed. Contractor does spraying the last couple of years but hasn't time to do 20 acres for me now. In reality your probably right it'll never fully pay for itself here anyway

Neighbor bought a gypsy pro. Borrowed it for spraying and fertilizer. Thought it a serious yolk. Simple to set up and use. Will buy one for next spring.

have a patchwork here, simple to use & can be switched easily between tractors.

It’s actually surplus to requirements as upgraded tractor & it has a gps installed.

How does the gypsy go when you leave the field and come back? Does it remember the lines or is there "drift"?

Average price of a 1000 is small to some big to others

It’s €150 a year for 10 years for the pro. On the higher rate of tax it’s only €75 ish a year. Could spend it on worse.

I use pigtail posts with meal bags cable tied (reusable types 😃) to every second pigtail. Every year I go using them, I'm thinking this is ridiculous. My neighbours seem to think so too, but I keep using them and they work fine.

No maintenance costs or yearly subscription.

I have one of them with a good few years now, screen is a bit small and maybe outdated at this stage but it's a gift for spreading fert and spraying.

Spraying is definitely the job I'd love to have it for as bloody hard to judge correctly the distances.

At least with fert. any extra applied is only going to do the ground good so not as important imo.

Ya it's basic enough but it's a gift at the same time. I'd imagine the newer style ones are a lot more user friendly with the rate technology moves at. Was around €1000 when I bought the ez guide but that could be 10 years ago now.

Been using GPS in some shape and form for nearly 20 years now.

The Gypsy looks like a great drop in and go system.

Using fieldbee myself, with rtk base station at home, use it for most field jobs now.

Mowing with it is a great job, perfect sections every time. Last sward works out to be about 80% of the mower.

Use it even for powerharrowing, sure I can do it by eye, but when doing a run, missing a run it reduces the turning time as I don't need to reverse.

Dribble bar too, instead of trying to get back beside a run, I do one and skip one

No auto steer, just the fool between the steering wheel and the seat.

I think fieldbee auto steer is like 5k+ vat tempted but while it's moveable but our field work is spread over a few tractors.

For the fieldbee app there is a subscription, not sure what it is right now, but when I got my 3 year one it was about 100/year.

Don't mind paying the subscription, development isn't free and I want them to be around in 10 years time

For the rtk no subscription as I have my own base station, and it's on rtk2go if anyone else wants to use it, just hotspot my phone for corrections
