What are our consumer rights with Couriers. DPD delivery that never came.

I live in an apartment in Dublin and was expecting a tracked package from from a third party Amazon seller based in France.

According to the tracking DPD delivered it to my apartment at 1:22 PM on Thursday.

I was in the apartment at the time and there was no doorbell ring at 1:22 and when I went down to check a while later, there was no package in the lobby.

Do I have any consumer rights regarding this? Is it DPD's word against mine?

Your issue is between you and the Amazon seller, not between you and dpd.
Tell the seller the package never arrived, its up to them to chase it.

Thanks, the third party seller is saying this in the Amazon reply.

We are sorry, but according to the carrier the package was delivered on June 26.We invite you to send us a signed certificate stating that parcel number xxxxxxx has not been delivered (model attached) .This certificate is part of the carrier's requirements. Rest assured, this document will not be kept and will only be used for transport claims.Thank you very much.

Write a letter saying that you did receive the package xxxxxxx and take a photo of it on your phone, some phones will automatically scan it, then attach it to an email and send it.

What eventually happened was I spotted the DPD van in the apartment car park today, I asked the driver about the package. He remembered delivering it on Thursday. I asked him which block did he deliver to and he pointed to another block, not my block. So we went into the other apartment block and there was the package in the lobby still sitting there. He apologised for the mistake.
