I'm a (late) newcomer to weights. I just want to lift some weights which I'm constantly hearing is even more important as we get older. I've been going to a local gym 3 times a week for 3 months but it's expensive (€130 per month for 12 group/PT sessions). I do enjoy it but man the cost is something else. Now that I've learned you can do a lot with some dumbbells and a bench I am thinking of buying one.

I know nothing about brands etc but I know that the cheap ones from Amazon are probably a bad choice.

I am really tight on space so I am trying to keep it small but practical.

I saw these two, are they good/worth it?

    This one from Elverys: https://www.elverys.ie/products/rival-commercial-multi-position-b8-weight-bench

    and this from McSport: https://www.mcsport.ie/collections/weight-benches-racks/products/hit-fitness-sb42-deluxe-utility-weight-bench-hit00181?variant=31806372380751

I’m sorry no one has responded to you.

I have a fully built home gym in a spare room we just used to keep our clothes in before folding them. So it’s a gym now. I used two companies to build my home gym.

One is unfortunately in the midst of shutting down however.

So “homegymstore” is one, ran by a guy called (spelling?) down in Killarney, and the other is “customgymequipment.ie”.

Both have provided me with great customer service and selection.
