Query personal data breach

    Hi All,

I ordered a product from a company in Ireland. I received the product in perfect condition. However, I received an invoice with another customers name, address, and phone number.

I contacted the company. I received an apology, and that it had never happened before. Later in the day I received another apology.

So far it's just not sitting well with me. I contacted the data protection commission. They agreed that this is a breach of personal data. They advised I contact them again looking for assurance that my personal details have not been breached, and to speak to their data protection officer if they have one.

I contacted the company again. I explained that I understand that mistakes can happen. However I would like to be assured that who ever has my personal details will be kind hearted enough to delete my information. Especially in the world we like in. I explained that I will shred the invoice I have once that customer is also notified.

I've never had this happen before. I don't understand why they didn't ask for the name of the person on the invoice that I received. I find it boggling.

I would be great full for any advice.
