Generator Shortage

Hi there, I'm hoping that someone on here can shed some light on this for me.
I ordered and paid for a Victor generator from a local plant and machinery store,it was marked as out of stock and was available on back order, they have a good reputation so I went ahead and forked out in full for the generator.
It's been nearly 3 months and still no sign of it been delivered or even back in stock and the shop is no wiser as to when it will be back in stock. They maintain that it's a nationwide issue since the last storm and blackout.
They tell me that they can refund me no problem if that's what I want but they insist that it's the same situation all over Ireland and I would not find the same exact generator from another dealer and at a similar price (it was indeed a good price).
I'm considering going for the refund and changing brands if needs be, for when the next blackout occurs and I'm still without a generator.
So I guess my question is, are there any websites or any group who are aware of such things as stock flows, that can tell me yes or no, yes there's another container load of these genies heading to Ireland next week, or no, it will probably be another 6 months , etc .
Any help appreciated and thanks .
