Design standards for student accommodation

This surprises me. Shared kitchens and living areas do sound like the way to create a more sociable experience, but a greater reliance on shared bathrooms and twin rooms? And they say this was done in consultation with students? Shared bathrooms in B&Bs and cheap hotels used to be a thing decades ago, but not any more.…

The point about student accommodation is what would everyone like and what can be provided at a rent that people can afford. There is a market for premium stuff, especially among international students. But there is also a need for something slightly less that more people can afford and this need not be better than a sharing a house scenario.
