My Company are implementing software to track office attendance in the US and some Asian Countries.

Does GDPR prevent them from doing this in Europe?

I doubt it very much.

If they're paying you, they are entitled to know where you are.

I don't think so - provided they are up front with staff that they are collecting the information, how they are collecting it and what that information is being used for (and have policies in how long they are storing the information for).

I seriously doubt it, if that was the case then how come so many people clock-in to work when they get into the office etc. Same principle so no GDPR issues from what I can see.

GDPR is not about getting information, it's about using information.

If the company say it will use the data from their card swipe system to monitor office attendance that's totally fine with GDPR.

If however they went and gave the data to an insurance company for example to determine how many miles you commute a year then it would be in breach of GDPR.
