FTTH/FTTP is (Fibre to the Home/Premises) broadband, where the fibre is brought directly to the house instead of stopping at the street cabinet and brought over phone lines, this is FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet)

FTTC max speed would be 100Mb/s, whereas FTTP currently goes up to 5Gb/s (5,000Mb/s).

OpenEir, SIRO, NBI, Virgin Media are the access networks in Ireland who connect you to the exchange/handover, they all operate FTTP networks to different areas, sometimes overlapping.

OpenEir are upgrading their network from FTTC (copper phone lines) to FTTP, so is Virgin Media going from coax to FTTP.

You can check https://www.comreg.ie/broadbandchecker/ to see what networks are available to you.

    You can check https://www.bonkers.ie/compare-tv-broadband-phone/ & https://switcher.ie/broadband/ also
