Hi everyone, hope I’m asking in the right place. My son has saved up for his first gaming PC and I want to get as much value as possible so I’m thinking about the self build route. I am new to this and my knowledge of PCs is strictly components based as opposed to what specifics are required in the build (essential tools, steps etc). I’ve completed the below as a starting point and after that I’d love to hear recommendations on how long it takes, any links to useful info etc - Thanks!

    1. What is your budget?

     [€1000]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer?

[Gaming (Roblox but showing interest in FPS and strategy games so likely to develop) Photo and Video editing (Stop motion animation mostly)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows?

     yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer?

    No - Starting from scratch

    5. Do you need a monitor?

    No

5a. If yes, what size do you need.

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?

    1920x 1080

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals?

    Yes

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking

    ?

    8. How can you pay?

    9. When are you purchasing?

As soon as I know the best approach and where to go for parts etc

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based?

Create a Windows 11 USB key. Also put the BIOS file on this key for Q-FLASH.

You can buy Windows 11 product keys online for 1.15eur or so. Use a disposable Revolut card/PayPal and you're good.

Only thing I had to compromise on was keyboard - gonna have to be cheap & cheerful until he saves up for a nice one.

Included 4 decent wireless gaming mice as options - they're all around 40euro.
