Aerial question

there is a house in Dublin 15 that has a really big aerial or anthenna or something on its roof . Like the thing is 20-30 feet high and is tethered to the roof by wires running to the four corners of the roof . I’ve always wondered what it might be used for . Just wondering if people might know ?

no it’s a genuine question , I was wondering was it foreign tv maybe but usually tv ones bit smaller . It just looks so odd , I was always curious was all .

Suspect for maritime telecommunication use.

Likely UHF colinear verticals for business 2-way UHF radio (450-470 MHz range). Likely a repeater system with separate transmit and receive antennas. Probably now disused if it is there a long time, as many businesses abandoned two-way radio systems when mobile phone took off.
