Sky Plus Box

Are all sky + and sky + HD boxes going, have sky + HD and it is terrible now with picture quality, keep getting no satellite signal error, failed recordings, is this over it being an old box, was given no notice by text or email to upgrade

Failed recording is usually down to HDD issues, which wouldn't be surprising given the age of the boxes.

Sky + HD boxes are working perfectly. Sounds like a dish alignment issue or damaged lnb, check the signal strength under 'settings ' on your Sky box

My Sky+ box is still working grand.

I did get an email from them saying some bit of Sky Sports will cease working soon but it's not something that will affect me so I'm not going to change anything until I absolutely have to!

ETA actually it's that some new additional content won't be available on the Sky+ box

Plug it out wait around 30 seconds then let the box reboot takes around 4 or 5 minutes

Probably the box is knackered. I had similar issues a while back, with recordings not working and loss of signal. I bought a new HD box on eBay for under €50 and it's been fine since.
