This was the post I replied too.Putin proposed the Turkey negotiations to deflect the pressure that had been building for a 30-day ceasefire. He figured that once it became clear no meaningful negotiations would be taking place the head of steam for a ceasefire would be unlikely to build again because Trump has the attention span of this guy
