Pat Mustard, the mustachioed milkman with a mysterious nighttime delivery schedule, Fr. Dick Byrne, Ted's arch nemesis from Rugged Island with a chip on his shoulder and a hankering for human meat in his soul, and Fr. Fintan Stack, the man whose presence causes plants to wilt and radios to scream.

Pat Mustard - nighttime delivery schedule

Dick Byrne - chip on his shoulder

Fintan Stack - causes plants to wilt radios to scream

    Is this just flavour?

To see who would reply and start discussion on them typically. But no one did at the time, although I see that there has been a fair bit of discussion centred on Ted especially today. The more information on thread the more we have to work with..

Are you afraid of discussion Phil? Is that not what the game is all about, the only way to get information is to make posts and see who answers/reacts and then you have more posts and more information to work with

You've a different perspective on ot than me obviously. I prefer to tell about the bad roles on d1 and not speculate on the good ones

As for stopping discussion I think I'm one of the more active posters today?

    Sure.....

Tell us all about your bad roles 🤔

So nothing back on my actual reply? Fair enough

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,476 ✭✭✭Orla WW

No I agree, there are some players, yourself included I presume, that frown upon any discussion on any of the good roles in the OP. Personally I think it's good to get any sort of discussion out there and then guage the reactions within that discussion.

Again it's preferences and I wouldn't be saying.. oh your a big bad wolf, because of something like that. Gather the information and note it for me.

What exactly is my summary of good roles going to do to the RV, they aren't going to come out and confirm any of that? It's not role hunting, as Jakey thinks but they are afraid to just outright say it rather do it subtlety, and shady.

There is currently too much, pussyfooting around different types of play imho

Sorry thread jumped to next page when I was replying, I did miss this as I was reading and replying and I apologise. That makes it look much better, so I've taken it out of my notes. (It was more for Ewan's reply, but that one makes it easier for him to know that

Ok ill give you an example from a recent game, clarksons farm. There was a line in th OP (original post!!) about clarksons dogs fending off an attack. Village didn't discuss clarksons role and wolves never picked up on the detail until after clarkdon survived an attack

If village had come out shouting about the role then wolves may have gained an advantage

    That's my view on it

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,241 ✭✭✭Phil WW

    No worries

I think ewan was one speculating on good roles too so I'm a bit unsure on them, but maybe that's just a style thing too. A few fluffy posts

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,236 ✭✭✭Steve WW

I'd agree with Phil and Jake.

Ted will presumably know what role the bishops play in his peeks, and realistically is the only one who needs to know that information for now. The village don't need that info. They should inherently trust Ted.

The only others who will be curious and want to figure out the mechanic beyond Ted is the wolves, so they can figure out if its usable to their advantage, or if they need to plot and plan around it.

Everyone else in the middle presumably doesn't need to know about the bishops until Ted is ready to talk about it.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,752 ✭✭✭Jake WW

I won't answer that as it only helps the wolves, as I've said before, they know their role and have to play it as best they can.

From the village perspective, there's nothing to be gained from drawing attention to them.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,752 ✭✭✭Jake WW

That's just strikes me as so wolfy. How the wolves plot and plan around something when they don't know who Ted will peek? This reads like wolf speculation tbh.

Can you explain the Latin quote?

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,236 ✭✭✭Steve WW

It's not wolf speculation, it's just giving my views of why I don't think we should be discussing what the Ted & Bishops stuff involves, cause my belief would be working that out doesn't help the village but would help the wolves. What benefit is there to it, from a village point of view? People speculating if kicking a bishop leads to a conversion, etc. Ted will know if it does or not. Why vocalise any information beyond that and helop the wolves plot?

Latin quote was pure fluff. Its Day one with little to go on, people are posting random stuff and gifs. I threw up something in Latin for a laugh cause I associate Latin with masses and priests. Was curious to see if anyone translated it.

I agree with them being curious etc, but I would be of the opinion that they wouldn't be starting discussions on it, (I know I started it and the inevitable "you would say that if you were a wolf" I'm not, but keep reading)

If you start a discussion on it, and wolves are active, they will more than likely get involved, which means that you can then guage the reactions and posts following it. I think this sort of conversation is essential especially early in the game where there is no wagonomics and you can then look back on it when there is some to work with.

That's just my gameplay, and I'll park it there.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,236 ✭✭✭Steve WW

That’s actually a fair point and an angle I’ve never considered.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,566 ✭✭✭Vernon WW

I'm generally against people speculating on thread if it helps the wolves, but I genuinely don't see anything in the discussion today and yesterday that might help them. And I think given that village roled players don't have the benefit of a team backroom like wolves it is helpful for the village to speculate on things in the OP a rolled villager might miss.

Having said that, I might be wrong.

Is there anything in the OP that might help us in figuring out the wolf roles. Beyond Pat Mustard peeking good which was explicitly stated is there anything else we can glean.

This is what has been noted on thread so far:

Pat Mustard has some wicked abilities, no indication of what they may be.

Fintan Stack: Kills without blinking, so possibly can kill independently of wolf munch.

Dick Byrne: Can use satanism and can be very convincing. So possibly vote switching, false evidence or communicating to village with misleaing info.

    Anyone with any thoughts?

    Pat Mustard

Looks to be Alpha wolf, peeks good and also has some abilities, at a guess I would be thinking more about vote tampering, or role blocking seeing as...

Fintan Stack - kills without blinking

Looks to be the Wolf Vig.

    Dick Byrne

The OP states that while teamed up with the other two he can be very convincing, I would be of mind in thinking that this would be changing a vote, may possibly only work while all wolves live.

This was mine.. it's well documented at this point 😂😂

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,566 ✭✭✭Vernon WW

I know, I said it was noted on thread. Just wondering whether anyone had anything to add.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,476 ✭✭✭Orla WW

And you asked if anyone has any thoughts, those are my thoughts on the three you added, the previous discussion never brought up the wolf roles, so I don't know if they were glossed over in my post or not, so I am just adding my thoughts again.

The second part of my post was said in jest

Pat Mustard – That hair. That charm. That suspicious habit of being around just as someone goes missing. The milkman with the libido of ten men, the eyes of a cold-blooded killer and some wicked abilities to boot. He also shows as good to any pesky seer peeks, because he’s so feckin gorgeous.

Peeks good and power role. - I'm hoping that means he can tracked.

Fr. Fintan Stack – The loudest man in Ireland, possibly the world. Drives a stolen car, has very hairy hands, blasts jungle music at 4 a.m., and kills without blinking. He’s not just a werewolf — he’s an arsehole.

    Wolf vig?

Fr. Dick Byrne - Still infuriated by the Eurosong debacle, Dick Byrne turned to a spot of the ould Satanism in his spare time. Now he's teamed up with Mustard and Stack he can be very convincing…

The last line, does this suggest he can also peek good? Maybe on alternate nights?

My speculation from earlier, the fact that Pat Mustard has "That suspicious habit of being around just as someone goes missing." suggests he can somehow be detected.

Pat's potential extra powers - peek to find RVs, block a yeet, extra munch, role block. They might have different ones that can only be used once.

Tricky Dicky could have any of the above powers too.

It would be great if Pat Mustard could be tracked. If he peeks good it might be one of the few ways to find him. We'll have to be careful not to take too much heed of good peeks as long as he is in the game.

Anyone else missing the old Sunday Day 0 when all it was was a mess of GIFs and a laugh? I blame the pesky mods for making Sunday an extended Day 1

    1000091796.gif

... "Then it all turned into a serious conversation"

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,476 ✭✭✭Orla WW

Personally I think that part of being around is just flavour, but who knows with Necro,

Pat's potential extra powers - peek to find RVs, block a yeet, extra munch, role block. They might have different ones that can only be used once.

again personally think it could be a jack of all trades type something like

    Peek

    Shot

    protect

But with role block or vote tampering taking place of one of the above, possibly shot as there seems to be a wolf vig already

Probably have the option to use one each night, and only recharging when all three are used
