Electrical blackouts caused by atmospheric phenomenon

    I Just saw the news reporting blackouts in Spain and Portugal being caused by some atmospheric phenomenon related to temperature differences.

    There is no scientific information I can find online with more detail. Maybe someone in this form could explain what scientifically might be going on.

    I did end up finding something more scientific that just went over my head as it was way too technical. Very interesting if this was the root cause though.

    It's more likely to have been due to a lack of inertia on the grid due to all the renewable energy which doesn't naturally produce it.

    Spain was only celebrating having 100% renewable energy on the grid the other day. And while welcome, it poses challenges.

    Getting to NetZero won't be easy or cheap…
