Need a new toilet for under the stairs, previously there was a low-level toilet but I would prefer a close coupled. The distance from the wall to the face of the pan connector is approx 14", and it looks like this would leave a reasonably large gap between the cistern and the wall for the toilets I am seeing online.

What are my options in this case? The waste pipe is coming up through the concrete floor so can't do anything about that. I could swap out the standard pan connector with a space saving one to save an inch or two, but don't think it would be enough of a saving, and would be worried about increase risk of blockages.

14” is quite a bit. The easiest solution migh be to get another low level (flush pipe) cistern as opposed to close coupled. There are some snazzy enough ones.
