Compound vs Aurum for self defence

I haven't got any particular interest in BJJ but I want to learn self defence and not sure if pure bjj or mma is better. Just wondering if anyone here has used these two gyms and can recommend? I did a beginner krav maga course before and didn't particularly enjoy it so would like to try something else.
