HI I applied for disability allowance jan 01 25 in Feb I was awarded free travel with no awarded disability letter it is still under review on my welfare did anyone else have this happen thanks

I’d say getting the free travel is a good indicator you were awarded DA , maybe ring Longford and ask , I heard my gov /welfare is slow to update , congratulations (if that’s the right thing to do ) on getting it . I have heard some got the free travel card before getting a letter to say it was awarded . Only thing I know is you only get free travel if you are awarded DA .

Obviously you applied separately for free Travel ,they would have verified with the DA section that DA was awarded before approving Free Travel ,so I'm confident DA Has been awarded .

I'm surprised your DA application still showing under review on mywelfare ,applications usually dissappear off mywelfare after 30 days & are worked on in the background.

I only applied for disability allowance nothing else just found it strange I got that first I know it comes after you are awarded the allowance thank you

Unusual, When I was awarded DA I was advised to apply for free travel & the Household Benefit Seperately.

Regardless the signs look positive for you.

I’m on invalidity pension for some time and I also was awarded free travel even though I never applied for free travel . I have never used it though maybe I will some day

If you didn’t have a PSC before you were awarded DA then you’d have been advised to apply for one as you couldn’t have got free travel without it.
But for those who already have a PSC, free travel is automatic when DA CA IP or state pension is awarded.

I actually did, infact a new one, They sent out an updated PSC with free Travel after I applied

That's because it's automatically awarded with IP.
