    Hi all,

Looking for some advice on 7 seaters. Have two little ones, 6 and 4, who are in high back boosters and another one on the way.

We're looking at spending roughly 30k.

I've looked at the likes of a Kodiak/ Tarraco/ Tiguan All space but have concerns about actually using the rear two seats with child seats( no isofix/ rear impact concerns).

A main point also is that we don't need a diesel, it'll be mainly used for short trips, drop offs etc.

I've seen a good few Jap import VW Touran's for sale recently and look perfect for our needs, there's practically no petrol SMAX's for sale and have heard bad stories about the petrol Peugeot 5008, which otherwise would've been great.

Any advice on the 1.4 TSI petrol VW Touran, 2018 onwards?

The older ones use a twin charged 1.4 engine which can be troublesome but the newer model facelift version is fine. Fairly thirsty tho compared to diesel

I know it's not what you asked, but for your budget you could get a brand new Dacia Jogger. Only two isofix point, on the outer two seat in the middle row, but this is true of many cars, apart from your VW Touran.

And there are good non isofix car seats.

Prius 7 seater. Wide middle row, and decent sized two rear/third row seats.

I assume it's the newer engine. My wife has a Seat Ateca 1.4TSI at the moment and we don't find it too bad fuel wise but it's just not wide enough for the 3 big child seats.

Yeah I've mentioned that to my wife and it's a non runner unfortunately.

I do see the value in them but she'll be ultimately driving it most of the time.

Would you consider a VW Transporter Shuttle , 9 seater, 2.0l petrol engine, DSG (auto) gearbox average mpg 32 There's a lovely 2018 silver one for sale in Wembley UK with just 58,000 miles, price : £28,000 (sterling) With import duties etc. it would be above your budget but it should last 10 years easy. They are a great van for the daily commute and to go on long weekend drives with family - you could even bring the dog and indeed fit the kitchen sink😁

Do you have a link to it?

Can you post a link please

Tried to post link but it did not work for some reason. The vehicle is for sale at M-One Motors, 5 Court Parade, Wembley, Middlesex e mail address : info@monemotors.co.uk Phone no. 07427673399

Google M-One Motors and follow the link. It seems that the VW Transporter Shuttle with a petrol engine is very rare even in the UK whereas there's a very good selection of the diesel version. By the way I have no connection with the garage !

Your eldest shortly shouldn't need a booster seat. Any full-size car should take a baby seat, a booster seat, and a kid in a seat belt (although a snug fit).

I'd highly recommend an estate car. Superb Mondeo 5-Series A6 etc etc.

7-seater - only if a number 4 is on the cards soon :-)

We had a few Touran's just a really nice practical size. More space than an estate style car, but shorter to park, and higher seating which helps with the back bending down.

7 seater is handy for grandparents, bringing extra kids or aunts and uncles. They are just bigger for buggies, bikes all the gear.
