Wired v Wireless SABB

    Greetings!

Son has HKC10270 Alarm fitted. It was a self install, well the main panel was self installed after it was found the panel was Engineer Locked and the original installer was not contactable. Migrating all the wireless sensors etc was a doddle. However, the SABB was a different matter. It required ladder work, which he thinks is too dangerous. So, there was the obviously dead SABB on the outside wall. Lo and behold, the house is now surrounded by scaffolding, which presented the opportunity to remove SABB and see can it be revived. The internal power pack is simply a ABS box with 6xDL123 batteries in it. I'm thinking, just replace the batteries and go through the motions of registering it on the 'new' panel.

This begs a question: will this SABB still remember the old panel, perhaps requiring some sort of reset before starting the 'register' process?

On another note, I myself have a wired SABB and its been on the wall so long I cant remember when I put it there, but its definitely more than 10 years. No regular ladder work required.

Does anyone have any idea how long the batteries in a Wireless SABB will last?

As usual, I thank you in advance for any and all comments.
