Someone said most people would prefer to drive ...

    What about

disabled people, old people, people with medical conditions that prevent them from driving,

    students,

poor people, people who can't afford to run a car, couples who can't afford two cars and pay a mortgage,

    asylum seekers,

    tourists,

people who want to work or study instead of wasting those commuting hours stopping/starting a car,

people who don't have free parking or can't afford parking at/near their workplace

people who can't drive or don't want to drive,

people who know that cars do not scale when moving large amounts of people, especially on the same journey, in/out of a city,

people who are sick of gridlock and want change, i.e. a modern first world commuter public transport system to/from city centre. Not some bullshit oversubscribed rail system from the 19th century with one line between Bray and Greystones and express buses that takes 90+ minutes to travel 30 km. And good luck getting a bus on the way home if your not near the terminus. The only reason it's not absolutely failure at the moment with grid lock is because a lot of people work from home. And good luck when it rains.

And I didn't even mention the "green" reasons because that upsets people.

Clearly you have difficulty in engaging in a mature discussion with other adults. Still, you'll be back in school on Tuesday and you'll get to use your crayons again!

Demonstrates my utter boredom with the direction of this thread and dogmatic comments.

Explain Enniskerry how will be affected?

    Is junction 6a being closed?

Maybe 451F could be a new execution method before the 4 years are up.Just a thought that occurred to me.Seeing as how the Sun King is so devoted to supporting the death penalty

Looking forward to improved public transport along the N11 corridor.
We can’t continue to pander to a noisy NIMBY minority.

Yes people prefer cars but they don’t like traffic.

Over and over it has been found that improved PT (including affordability) and better journey times is popular vs. the car

Traffic has proven to be impossible to rid in the West. “One more lane” hasn’t worked.

The N11 / M11 needs improvements as the junctions are a risk and go beyond “normal” traffic, but it absolutely needs better PT

    #30 Seth

I don't live in Bray but occasionally have to plough thru it for family reasons.Blocking the Herbert Road off from the M11 denies an alternative route into the town.I find DublinCityRadio traffic reports excellent for traffic conditions on the M11 from the M50 merge out to Kilmacanogue village

    It isn't.

A bit of advice. Have a look at the proposals before pedaling half truth Facebook hysteria on here.

Neither the April 2025 Preferred Option documents show it as closed.

J6a direct access to the N11 is being closed, and access to Enniskerry Rd. will be from J7 in both directions, but I don't see that it makes much difference as access southbound (which is probably 80% of traffic to Enniskerry) is via J7 already.

I understand that the planned revision of junction 7 will help with access to and from the N11/M11. However, the issue for a lot of people is getting to that junction. The Boghall road, Kilarney Road, Kilbride lane is already a basket case.
Especially getting from Kilbride lane - that is only going to get worse
