Is there much difference in fertiliser

Got some ground that had sheep on it as many months and bare now,

Its bit worn out and thinking of putting some fertiliser on it, what yous think? and if so what should I use..... 27 + 2.5 +2.5 +S or 20 +10 +10

Need to know the indexes in the soil, start with soil samples.

realistically if you haven’t samples and you just want to play safe you won’t go too far wrong with 10.10.20 or 18.6.12

Any shortage of 18 6 12 in other areas, there are no small bags to be got within 50 miles of here. Not with weeks. Deepest darkest Mayo

well if he is buying small bags he is probably not buying huge volume. Had to do it last year when loader tractor had an issue. Was surprised how quickly ud fill it was. Not it was only a bag. Maybe if it was a few tonnes. it would be different

I have 2 pallets being delivered today. Told Driver put them on the pallets that I have on the ground. They keep them up almost 3 feet which makes a big difference to my back 😊

I don't spread any fert but I was in the local merchants this week and out of curiosity asked the price of a bag of 18.6.12, €28 if it could be got which it can't.

Depends on the price, but if the two costs the same then 20 + 10 + 10 is likely to offer a higher raw nutrient value for the same price due to its significantly higher percentages of Phosphorus and Potassium.

I reckon there would be a price difference because of this and the 27 + 2.5 +2.5 +S would be more effective at growing grass plus it has Sulphur which is needed on most Irish grassland farms.

But soil tests would be the first thing to do, they would give you a clearer picture of the soil on your land.
