Gym with cardio and strength classes

Looking to get in shape after a cholesterol warning from the doctor.

Any recommendations for a gym in cork that does both cardio and strength classes. Cardio classes preferably other than spinning, looking to get into light running but need to get up to that level first.

    TIA

I had a cholesterol warning from my doctor, too. No conversation about diet or exercise (or about anything, really, other than cholesterol numbers), he just wants to put me on medication for it.

Why is it so hard to find a decent GP who will actually discuss options before reaching for the prescription pad?

I can relate with this! After having my bloods done, my GP just tells me (over SMS) that my cholesterol is 'up'. No mention of actual figures etc. Absolutely shite service from doctors today. Granted he didn't mention medication, just diet (I exercise a lot already).

Sorry OP, I can't help you with your request about gyms but to begin with, you could do worse than regular brisk walking. As long as you elevate the heart rate you're doing well. The key here is 'regular', build in consistent exercise habits into your lifestyle and keep an eye on your diet too of course.
