Hi All, We bought a 2014 E Golf, theres a problem when it comes to charging automatically, Firstly the car WILL charge if plugged in and charge started manually. The fault is on the timed/ scheduled charge. We also have a Kona EV which works fine with the wall charger so the fault i local to the Golf, So with all timers in the car switched off and using the schedule on the wall charger set to switch on at 1am and off at 6am , at 1am [or any time its set too] the charger tries to start charging the car but the car immediately rejects the charge and suspends the charge. The same thing happens when using the cars internal timer setup. If I press the charge now option on the charger app nothing happens until I unlock the car then it will charge as normal. I have tried all variations I can think of using one timer, both timers together, both buttons on the charge port but nothing, Lower charge limit is set to zero and upper to 100%.

Anyone had this fault?? could it be software/ Firmware related?

    TIA.

Had an e-Golf previously and never came across this but I never used the Zappi timer and relied on the car timer which was faultless. I did read somewhere about software updates on Zappi that caused issues with VW charge timers. More ID models than the e-Golf though I think. Would your wallbox have had a recent software update that coincides with the start of the issue ? SpeakEV forum in the UK (www.speakev.com) used to have a lot of e-Golf content. Might be worth a look there.

Telephone myenergi phone line during office hours when at unit with car plugged in. They can walk you through settings changes. They have a list of cars and known issues. There are setting like "compatibility" mode that may fix car specific issue.

The OP may not necessarily have a Zappi but good call if it is. MyEnergi are pretty good for tech support and warranty.

Theres a Facebook UK eGolf group might be helpful. I've not tried a timed charge on the charger. I use the schedule on the car and most I've done is set a destination time with pre-preheating.

That unlocking the car does not sound right. Ours charges when locked or unlocked.
