Hi. My relative passed away and her bank account has been frozen. She has direct debits outstanding. Re ESB, the house needs it for the foreseeable so while the direct debit is going to bounce back now, I want to be able to.pay it off manually via post office/ by phone. How much hassle is this going to be? Fortunately I'm an authorised person kn her account but is it necessary to cite death of the account holder and just request changing from direct debit to manual OR if I need to disclose death of the account holder, what then do I need to do/ provide? Will I have to put the account into my name?

Just trying to keep it simple for the next 6-12 months till house is inevitably sold.
