Can it rival Kin and Love Hate as a hit show

    Not sure.

Will see what E2 is like tomorrow night.

I see all episodes are up on VM Play. It looks like it was originally shown on Dutch TV in January, they partly financed it. Seems to be very poorly promoted, only seen a promo for it on social media during the week.

Based on what I saw, no.

Kin, series one anyway, was easy to get into. Set up the plot nicely.

Thirty minutes into this I was feeling lost.

I'll rewatch it again later this week though for Colm Meaney alone.

The brother character is weird looking like he time travelled from the 80’s. It hasn’t grabbed my attention like love hate and kin did but I’ll watch it again tomorrow night.

Watched In the Land of Saints and Sinners recently and I thought this was a spin off series, but no connection since Meaney is alive! Gleeson plays the exact same type of character.

Don't expect anything from life, just be grateful to be alive.

I wasn't impressed with any of the acting tbh. I'll give it another go tonight.

I thought the weird hair and tash on yer man was a disguise at first. Is he a Gleeson?

Its like he skinned a cat and put it on his head.

    It seems very badly written.

What true events is it supposed to be based on? They must be fairly recent with all the tech involved.

Jack Gleeson from Game of Thrones who was suppose to retire, no relation to Brendan, he seems to be hamming it up on this big time

Is this meant to be a comedy or wtf? A tennis racquet and tin of beans as weapons 😕🤔.

It is not in the same league as Love Hate or Kin, but I am enjoying Safe Harbour. Once the rival local gang in Rotterdam entered the mix, the story has picked up pace somewhat. I also like the two tech guy characters who have got dragged in more directly with the Irish gang. Charlie Murphy is a good actress, but I don't think she is at her best in this - it could be down to her dialogue. Jack Gleason, who I was not familiar with previously, plays the impetuous psycho brother well, but his hair (surely a wig!) and moustache are a bit off-putting!

Looks like they are setting it up for a second season.
