Windscreen question

    Hi folks.

So I have a new car that recently got the windscreen replaced.

With the gorgeous weather at the moment, it's shinning onto the windscreen and I see the attached dirt or dust (not sure what to call it)

It's only visible when sitting into the car and when the sun is shinning

I've cleaned it in and out, makes no difference

What I find strange about it that there's a rectangle shape in between dirt/dust

You'll have to forgive me for my ignorance but could the windscreen have dust/dirt within the panel itself?

Windscreens have a laminated structure with an plastic type centre layer. It's very possible that there could be a defect within the screen.

Some of the windscreen companies will buy the cheapest crap they can get their hands on.

Would the fact the rectangle is clear indicate there was a sticker there so it protected it from whatever dirt is on it so it's on the outside of the glass? Maybe try something like this to see. https://www.autoglym.com/fg500-fast-glass.html

You usually have to pay more to get the OEM glass, otherwise they put the cheapest stuff in.

Most people don't care, likely you got a defect panel. Call them and ask for a replacement

Most likely just some stubborn residue which will eventually clear off, or if it really bothers you get a special glass cleaner as mentioned.
