Anyone try this? Do mcguirks or halpenny do wedge fitting that's any good, specifically I'd like to try hit a few wedge shots with flatter lie angle wedges to align better with the irons I use.

Or even more simply… anyone able to bend their wedge (ie with a hammer?) 🤠

Did a fitting in kinsealy for wedges years ago. You're hitting off a mat, so maybe not ideal, but was pretty comprehensive in terms of setting them up to align properly with the other clubs in the bag.

I was looking at 54/58 combo, and he insisted I bring my PW and GW with me to the session, alongside existing wedges so he could make sure gapping worked correctly, etc...

I got my wedges fit with Brian McCormack in Tullamore. Hitting of an indoor simulator so not perfect but looked at everything from lie angle to gapping's. I thought it was very good.

He has a new fitting studio out at the club now with the option to hit off grass.

golf Ireland do full wedge fittings, you can hit off mats on trackman out into range to targets to narrow down full shots, shafts, grinds, loft and lie etc. then take candidates out to the grass short game areas and bunkers to test out in real situations with your own ball.

It’s a relatively easy thing to go flat and work out what it should be, normally you would go a degree or two flatter in wedges. I’m 1 flat in irons and play 2 flat in last two wedges, I play same shaft in wedges as irons.
