Trying to source a specific tree.

I'm trying to source a very specific tree, a pinus sylvestris Watereri umbrella shape tree. My question is what are the nurseries that may have multistem trees like this. The only one I can find online is Tully nurseries, however the are looking for €3,000 for this tree. I see many european websites with the tree in germany, netherlands, etc, however they do not ship to Ireland, they are charging €500 as opposed to €3,000, which is much more in my price range.

My question is what other nurseries in Ireland may be likely to stock specialist trees, like this? I tried Dundrum in Tipperary, however they don't do it.

    All help would be appreciated.

Here is a pic of the tree in question.

Tullys have an incredible selection, might be worth giving them a call to see if they have a younger, cheaper specimen.

Anything with specific shaping like this is likely to be expensive.

Try the plant collector in celbridge, if they have one it probably won't be cheap but they might be able to get you one . Lovely tree btw

Thanks lads for the links. A few have it but its a small specimen. The plant collector has some wonderful trees but not the one I want, I'll just have to change my choice. Thanks.

Have you tried Kinbark Nurseries in Wexford? https://kinbark.ie/trees/

Sorry the link did not load properly. It kind of works for me.

    Have you tried Clarenbridge?

You only live once OP. If you really want it - negotiate with Tullys, hopefully they'll do a deal. Trees / bushes of that price would be very slow to sell.

Fair point. But my max budget would be €2,000 and they want €3,000. I can't see them coming down to that to be honest. I will try.

Thanks but those are small specimens, maybe 1-2 years old. The tree I am looking for is 15-20 years old. Its the time and work that I'm paying for.

Personally, I would buy a 1/2 year old tree and see how they like it. You could be spending good money on a tree that may not like the location and die. It would also give you time to find a good deal.

Buy 5 or more smaller ones and plant them very close together. In good conditions you'll have that effect in 5 years.

Wake me up when it's all over.
