Earlier this year Storm Éowyn inflicted some significant damage to the roof of St Nicholas Collegiate Church in Galway . Impact GIS were commissioned to undertake a photogrammetric survey of the Church roof to help advise the repair works. A 3D model of the Church can be viewed on Sketchfab - https://skfb.ly/puGXp .

Very good scan. More of these models should be available. Ideally in a central accessible database. Something like Google maps would do in a pinch

Imagine the 3D walk-though if the internals were also added. You could peel the walls back to uncover the interior fabric.

From what I've read the state of the art is combining photogrammatry with LiDAR (handheld or drone).

Mark Rober used a chest-mounted LiDAR to map out the interior of Space Mountain as a rollercoaster passenger, although I wonder how much effort went into post-processing.
