Central locking noise post car service

    Hello Troops,

I got my car serviced and now the central locking makes a grinding noise when locking the doors. It didn't do this pre-service. The noise comes from the driver's door and from research online, it seems a new door lock actuator might be needed or the current one be repaired, if possible.

The car service, included a new battery, brake disks and pads. So I am wondering could the battery change have done something to the lock actuator?

The mechanic says the battery change wouldn't have done it and says I should take the car to a central locking specialist on the Long Mile Road. Obviously he isn't going to pay for that.

The car is a 2016 Nissan X-Trail. Has anyone had this issue before? Do you think I should go back to the mechanic and get them to fix it? Also any ideas how much fixing this issue would cost approximately?

    Thanks,

    Bob
