Spacing sleepers for a deck

We are getting a hottub to go in the garden. It is 2M diameter, weighs 160kg when empty and will take 700 - 1000L of water (that's an extra 1000kg) and say 4 people when fully loaded (say another 300kg or so) - so all in just under 1,500kg.

I want to build a square base 3.6m x 3.6m; I plan to lay down sleepers and then put decking boards on top. I am thinking 40cm between each sleeper - is that about right for the weight it would have to support? Can I get away with a wider gap, or do I need to go closer?

At 40cm apart for sleepers that are 2400x400x200mm I would need 11 sleepers.

PS - Just thinking that maybe I can increase the space between the outer sleepers and keep them closer together for the middle 2m …
