Junior Cycle History without doing CBAs

    Hello

    I have never taught the new JC History course. I know very little about it. I see there are CBAs to be completed. Not even sure what they are really. Has anyone done a JC History course in one year without having done a CBA?

    I think one CBA is obligatory but am very much open to correction. If one is obligatory when must it be completed by and who is the completed CBA given to? Can a student sit the JC History exam without doing a CBA and if so what is the highest grade they could get?

    The CBA is basically a history project.

    CBA1 is done in 2nd year between November and May at a time of choosing by the school.

    A student can sit the exam even if they missed their CBA. It will have no impact whatsoever on the result they can currently achieve

    This will change if CBA2 is brought in. This would have an Assessment Task linked to it that would account for 10% of the final grade.

    Thank you. If this CBA2 is brought in, can a candidate still sit the exam not having done it-in the knowledge that 10% of the total mark is forfeited?
