There was a GSOC investigation in that case which found the information came from a leak within AGS.

So one instance in 12 years, which came as an 'unauthorised leak' according to GSOC.

The point was that this happens regularly. It does not, would you agree?

I'll ask you again, provide me with evidence that a suspect being named before they were charged is a regular occurance.

You make the claim, you back it up.

I'd hate to think you were incapable of holding your hands up and admitting you were wrong in this instance.

An SF councillor was also arrested. It’s probably not the worst time for this story to break for SF, as all eyes will be on the White House this week. SF might lay low while this blows over, which means they could miss some opportunities to score points against FF when he (quite rightly) doesn’t challenge Trump over Ukraine, etc.

Just reviewing this part of the thread.

The wording in the Examiner article is a bit misleading but the actual timeline is more revealing of the facts.

May 2019 Pharmacist arrested.

January 2020 Pharmacist convicted in District Court.

December 2020 Pharmacist appeals and conviction quashed in Circuit Court.

2022 PSI becomes aware of the case.

The PSI sets up an inquiry and :

The PSI inquiry heard that the regulatory body was contacted by Mr O’Leary’s solicitor, Frank Buttimer, following a report by an authorised PSI officer into the newspaper articles about his prosecution. Mr Buttimer indicated his client was willing to attend for a cautioned interview as requested.

It therefore appears that the basis for the inquiry and media coverage was the prosecution and not the arrest.
