The ESB Networks Electrical Apprenticeship Program is now open for applications.

I completed this program myself a few years ago. Really good apprenticeship for anybody finishing school, or just looking for a career change. Link below.

Anybody hear back on this? I applied and did my aptitude tests back when they were coming around with them but heard nothing since, not on the portal or emails (Yes i checked the spam folder daily too)

From what I have heard, interview invites are being sent out around now. If you make it to interview you should be hearing shortly.

I know someone who had an interview for this last week so interviews have commenced. Based in the Midlands.

Anyone know do they bring many for interview or what are the chances?

Had the interview on the 20th of May. Got an email on the 9th of June telling me i had passed the interview stage and that i was being brought forward to re-sit two categories of the aptitude tests, which I must now complete.

Well done, best of luck with it. If you pass the re-sit of the aptitude test, the next stage will be a medical.

Thanks for the update. And best of luck with it.

Done the medical on the 11th of July and was told on the day that I had passed and would have to wait now to be contacted again by the ESB recruitment team. ( Apparently they let people know on an ongoing basis). Has anyone done the medical and been contacted yet, or anyone know how long roughly I should be waiting to hear back?

    Thanks😊

My Son did his medical on Tues at 9am, got a phone call this morning from ESB congratulating him on his acceptance. He starts training on the 17th Nov in Portlaoise.

Rang around the list of lodgings ESB provided and got him sorted with somewhere to stay for the 5 weeks. I'd get on the case as soon as you hear from ESB as the lodgings seemed to be filling up fast people on the case as soon as the offers went in!

Anyone know what the pay is for a newly started 1st year ESB apprentice? As far as I can see it's 9.16/hr based on a 39hr week comes to 357.24 a week Gross. Anyone know if they get any allowances for being down in Portlaoise to help with travel or accomodation or anything? Just trying to figure out my Son's finances as he will be starting soon.
