Thanks, ye put it up as a covid project. The best thing I ever done. It's only 10 x 12ft but faces the setting sun and the back wall blocks the pesky east wind. Great for eating outdoors and drying clothes in winter. I remember seeing a photo of your pergola a while back in your beautiful garden .

It hasn't rained here since Friday 25th April. 22 days. Sunny and blue skies again, the usual 😉

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

A couple of 18c's already out west at 0900. Could be a warm day.

Just over 18C now here near Tralee, all the blinds shut on the South side of the house , windows open on the North side with fans at the window drawing in the cooler air, cooling the house as much as possible before heading out ,will reverse it this evening. Worked well yesterday, the German influence in the family!

    Newport reporting 22c at 1100.

Meanwhile, 13.5c in Greystones, but does feel warm in the sun.

Definitely warmer in Meath today compared to any other day over the past week, 17C already, could get to 19 or 20C later. Next week also looking warmer for eastern areas which have been on the cool side for quiet a while due to the onshore easterlys.

    Another day in paradise😎

There is quite a cool breeze in Dublin today but suits me perfect so we don't melt in the park.

Glad we didnt go to beach, kids would be complaining about the cold 🤣

Another barbecue on menu for his evening😁

Another fab day 😀 22c here in carrick on shannon, done all my washing even washed all the winter stuff, just have about 2 hours of ironing later , buzzing for the Eurovision Grand Final 😄

The heat in the sheltered garden is just unreal, don't know what it must feel like in West, you must all be melting🥵

This is the life, it's actually hilarious that's this isn't officially summer🤣

Got to 25°in my part of the Midlands a short while ago, with just a light but warm breeze. With the very low humidity, it feels lovely, not at all hot in any way. I would be perfectly happy if it was 5 to 10° warmer still and with no wind at all. Mid teens asking the east coast with a fairly biting cool wind...... No thank you! 🥶

It definitely doesn't feel 16 degrees in sun and sheltered back garden definitely 20+ degrees here, but yep if you were at coast today in Dublin you would feel the chill😁

Once there is unbroken sun always feels roasting to me, those 22 degree cloudy days in summer are such a waste, I'd never feel really warm if no sun.

22c in Sligo today but 26.3c in sheltered back garden. It's hot out there. Cool breeze out in the front in the open. Grass is yellower now and rivers are streams bar the main ones.

Another brilliant and cloud free day, got up to 25.1c at my sheltered site, as good as any summer day and cooling down just right this evening with a nice cool airflow going through every window in the house which are all open this evening.

As warm if not even warmer tomorrow.

Thanks Robwindstorm, Yeah, this is the second one I have made in the same spot, the first was made from all bits of left over building materials, this one has better wood etc, Covid project too,South facing and for me it blocks the W and NW winds the most. Getting great use this year although I must tidy up the pond a bit, never seen so much growth with all the fine weather.

Lucky you Meteorite! about ten degrees lower on the east coast. You need to find a well sheltered sun trap to enjoy this fine spell here, enjoy it while it lasts.

There's cloud actually coming down past the NW of Ireland tonight. Will there not be a cloudless sky tomorrow. We will see. Maybe a couple of clouds early on burning away quickly. Anyways wev got till Thursday of very decent weather then we try and look for the next good spell.

Cork Airport the sunniest station in Ireland this May so far with 203.5 hrs of sun to the 17th. Exceptional, May 2020 had 244.1 hrs here. 2025 still has 14 days to go.

Dublin Airport on 198.1 hrs, a bit more of a tall order to beat May 2020 there which had 295.0 hrs.

Yeah Docarch, the wind is even stronger today on east coast.

Lovely here on the back garden though with wall to wall sunshine.

It's magic having beautiful summer weather in May.

    Shannon 24C at 16:00. 6 other stations got 23C.

I played golf this morning. Was fairly baked by the end of the round. Course is very dry and rock hard in places.

    Sunset at 9:30pm.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

21:32 sunset for me this evening. Spent almost three hours lying in the sunshine earlier. Doing lots of outdoor jobs now and when though it's nudging into the mid twenties here, the very low humidity means that I'm barely breaking a sweat. Perfect weather for working outside. I've a good base tan for holiday in the Med in a couple of weeks. Bliss.
