Just wondering who the DLers who have got NBI Briadband installed in recent times have gone with to provide them with their service?

One of the big nationals like Virgin, Sky, Eir or such?

Or did you go with one of the smaller or local providers?

When FTTH arrived I went with Pure Telecom. Some change going from the oul 2-3mb Eir pish, to 500mb fibre.

Order Airwave, not installed yet. The big boys are less willing to make things work if you've got oddities I've found, when dealing with similar situations before.

All installs are done by NBI, including network maintenance. So really no difference in the BB. Hence, it boils down to price for me. Big boys are generally much cheaper. Then move every year to get a better deal.

Eir have just upped the price for both broadband and mobile again during my 2 year contract. Might try Sky for BB (as you can getout of the contract due to the price hike) I currently get 500mb with Eir (I know they own the infrastructure) Prob keep with them for mobile as up a hill and signal rubbish, and that's only a 30 day contract anyhoo… Unless anyone else has any recommendations for broadband? Thank yous!!!

Are you sure you can get out of your contract? I just got an email from Vodafone today advising of a 3.50 Euro increase in my home phone and broadband. I had a look at their website and it says I can't break the contract without penalty.

How long from local survey to fibre laying, in people's experience?

I noticed a crew surveying the local roads last month, so hopeful it won't be too long. We are only a couple of kms from civilisation!
