An post Error

    recently I posted a letter to County Sligo Ireland

    However my letter containing personal information and documents, has been sent to the uk???? what a stupid mistake now I am waiting on royal mail to return my letter to Ireland and hope it gets to its correct destination

    How can such an error occur I have been in contact with my local post office where I sent by registered post my letter they told me its in Ireland However on further investigation I have confirmed my letter has indeed left Ireland and in the uk.... idiots.

    Hopefully it turns up. I'd contact An Post to see if they can locate it and have it rerouted.

    I was under the impression post was machine sorted. Did your letter contain an Eircode that might be similar to a UK postcode? Or a similar address?

    My letter was correctly addressed and has a registered post number and barcode it also has the eir code written on the letter

    It's simply a stupid mistake that may be at my expense I really hope not

    thank you I shall and it's now a waiting game my letter contains important personal information and documents they are IDIOTS I'm furious.

    With respect. Post sometimes goes astray in all countries. It happens. Human error, system error…who knows? It's rare though and An Post actually have a very good track record for correct and prompt deliveries compared to most of Europe. While unfortunate when it happens, it hardly warrants branding all of An Post as idiots. It'll turn up.
