I’m sure it’s a great van but it’s shamefully ugly in those images. An ID.Buzz or an e-Transporter are a lot better to look at.

It's certainly an acquired taste, but if it's a good van and a good EV then it sound like a winner

I disagree. It's a great looking van. Much nicer than an E-Transporter or an ID-Buzz and will very better built and more reliable than them too.

VW Buzz is twice the van this is. Kia must be out drinking lately with their saloon EV4 release and then this. They risk downhill design now.

How many VWs are on the road compared to Kia? It's generally been a more popular brand here

Going by your statistical model the Subaru Solterra is probably the most reliable EV in Ireland as long as the 1 imported car doesn't break down

I'm not sure I'd call it twice the vehicle as an ID.Buzz

They both have some pluses and minuses

The Buzz is definitely better looking IMO, but is shockingly expensive for what it is and VW innovates at a glacial speed

The PV5 seems much better technology and it seems to have a lot more interior space and better design. It's also great to see a manufacturer leading with a wheelchair accessible design rather than just hoping a 3rd party will figure it out

Frankly it's shocking in 2025 that manufacturers aren't forced to have at least 1 vehicle with an easy conversion option

Also having decent in-built V2L is always a plus in a potential campervan conversion

However, I think Kia have majorly fumbled it with the battery capacity and voltage. 72kWh usable and 400V architecture? Why does Kia hate the EV6 so much that they refuse to replicate it in other EVs

It's clearly designed as an urban taxi and delivery vehicle, enough battery to get through a shift with maybe 1 fast charge over lunch break

As something you'd want for a road trip or campervan it's pretty lacking in that respect

Many manufacturers have easily adaptable wheelchair motors nowadays. Take a look at the WAV approved vehicle list for taxis. That would be a good start.

There’s a few Irish dealers that specialise in them but maybe you mean from the factory?

But on the looks V the Buzz, yeah can’t argue any of the points really as all subjective to the individual.

Well ye when you consider that VW are around longer in the market here and that Seat ,Skoda and Audi are all basically just VWs too of course there is going to be more of them. But that will not last forever. Just like Ford and Opel are no longer the big brands they once were here the same will happen to VW.

Kia did have a bit of a reputation back in the day, and not a good one

They've improved dramatically, and to be fair VW have gotten worse over the years

I wouldn't say either are particularly worse than the other overall

Anyway, it doesn't seem like VW are going to disappear anytime in the next few years

I'll give Kia credit for trying to be a bit different, not my cup of tea however

If they changed up the black bonnet and made the colours a bit more vibrant instead of 50 shades of boring then it'd be a lot better
