Extension Roof design - can it be made simpler

Hi,
I'm looking for peoples opinion on the attached roof design that has been proposed for a 2 storey wrap around extension to a semi-d with a hipped roof. What I'm really after is what is the simplest and by extension inexpensive form for the roof, but not a fully flat roof. Where the roof goes from pitched (straight lines) to flat (crossed) there would not be a wall running under this, as its the middle of a bedroom
