Peugeot 308 202 indicator fault

We've a 202D Peugeot 308 that occasionally throws up a fault when indicating left. It's switching off itself. Not coming on for days. I've checked the fuses & bulbs and can't see any issues. Has anyone else with a 308 or Peugeot come across similar or any ideas?

Do you have OBD scanner to scan for any faults?

Could be a fault with a bad earth or another light circuit (tail-light, indicator etc) earthing through one of the other lamps.
Used to be a common issue on Peugeots/Citroen/Renault/Nissan or anything with multiplex wiring, not sure it still happens with the more modern cars. Often seen when all the lights, indicators work correctly until you brake while the indicator is active & the indicator stops flashing & the brake light starts flashing like an indicator (or something similar).
You can check it easily enough but you’ll need an apprentice to help you out. Get someone to sit in the drivers seat while you watch from behind the car. Try indicating each side while braking with lights/fog lights/reverse lamp turned on & see if anything funny is happening.

If you catch something like this happening you can easily fix it by directly earthing the dodgy lamps wiring directly from the body of the car.

Thanks for both your replies. Gpoint, I've a Bluetooth ODB scanner. Not sure what software id need for a Peugeot. Can you recommend or point me in the right direction?
