I bought a new Samsung laptop with McAfee preloaded. Today I have been damned all day with Renewal Notifications every second or so. I googled solutions using both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, but neither similar solutions made the slightest bit of difference. Hopefully, some kindhearted soul on here can save me from chucking this laptop out the window and me jumping out after it!

I haven't subscribed to McAfee or any other similar program for years, and I get by with Microsoft Defender without any problems at all.

Any program that hounds people into renewal would give me more incentive to uninstall it than pay the feckers. If you do renew it you'll only be hounded again in a year's time with the same reminder crap.

Try ccleaner free version to get rid.

    https://www.ccleaner.com/download

Look in the tools => uninstall and startup sections.

    I use kaspersky free antivirus.

Put up a picture of the message,it might be a chrome or edge notification

    Or

You might need to run the McAfee antivirus removal tool, by far the best program McAfee make

Only use windows defender and occasionally check your not using an old version or Adobe reader

And don't buy a MacBook, Starbucks coffee is too cold

McAfee pre-install anti virus is a PITA. It kept changing.default search engine to Yahoo on my Lenovo laptop and then there was try constant pop up renewal reminders.

    Solution ..Delete,.remove,. uninstall

This bloatware has embedded agent/app if not mistaking , even if you uninstall the program from control panel you might need to do a cleanup - check apps list in settings and remove anything with its name
refer to this and see if it helps.

I personally would fresh install Win to ensure no traces remain
