I requested a mortgage in Spain and they asked me to provide a credit report from the CBI that states I do not have any pending credit, mortgage, loan..

I requested a credit report in the CCR website and I got an email back saying "I confirm that we are unable to locate you on the Central Credit Register based on the
information provided in your request" all the details are correct, is this because I do not have any credit, mortgage, loan….?

Yes that is correct so basically you don't have a credit history, this report would show if you have paid loans etc.on time, missed any direct debits etc. defaulted on any, this is how you would be scored and would give a risk assessment to other banks etc to who you apply for credit. Think it's for previous 5yrs

Try getting a credit card & use on something small each month and clear in full on time and that'll start your credit history for you

Yes it's a report by exception, so long as you don't breach any of the legally defined credit events, there is nothing to report. Under the EU directive Spanish financial institutions have access to your information themselves, so it's a bit unusual for them to be asking you to provide it….
