    Hi,

    I can't figure out where this should go.

    I'd like to hear people's experiences of going through FOI for hospital records?

    How long does it all take?

    Do you need to provide a preamble as to why the request?

    Did you actually get any decent records in the end?

    It's relating to a parent wjo has since passed away but I have power of attorney. Will I be given access?

    You dont need to give a reason, and they"re not allowed to ask for one when submitting a FOI request.

    Process takes 4 weeks. If there is a huge volume of documents this can be extended.

    The passed away/power of attorney rhing - Im not sure what the law says about this.

    If the person who gave you the power of attorney has died, the power has lapsed. You can't do anything in reliance on it.

    However if you are the designated executor of that person's estate, you can act in that capacity.
