A house share directly across the street has a malfunctioning sensor light which comes on at twilight - actually it's on all day and night but causing a nuisance during nighttime hours. Probably visable from the international space station !

Landlord is in no way approachable and has actually instructed tenants not to answer the door to anyone- this confirmed by a previous tenant.

Any thoughts on how to deal ?

A note in the door explaining your problem, ask them if they'll sort it, give a phone number and ask them to give you a call about it?

Thought of that but they've been told not to engage.. under any circumstances. Place was subject of a drugs raid ( different tenants) so I think Ll is a bit paranoid. Was thinking a large mirror reflecting it back onto them ?

    Buy blackout blinds.

Why would the LL tell the tenants not to answer the door?

Because the neighbours are interfering busy bodies.

Or because customers of former tenants may come calling.

Either way - blackout blinds are the answer.

Thousands of folk live with a massive streetlight outside, or adjacent a junction/bend/rise where passing headlights illuminate their rooms

Sniper to take out said light.
