Couple of questions about my HKC system

I have a HKC system, about 7 years old.

During the recent power cut, I realised my alarm system battery was low, and unable to power the panel. Hence with no power, the bellbox battery triggered. Now I have power restored, all is well, and I will shortly connect a brand new alarm system 12v battery.

    Questions

    • Is there typically an engineer setting to disable the bellbox battery entirely?
    • My alarm system internal box is open, will closing it trigger the tamper alarm?
    • Do I need to cut mains power to install the 12v? (presume yes)
    • Is it easy to replace a HKC panel with one with cellular remote access, but leave everything else as-is?

No, the battery is independent of the panel as if an intruder was to disable your alarm, the external bell will ring.

If you open the control panel the keypad should indicate the tamper event, putting in the code will stop this.

The battery can be changed either way, so which ever you are more comfortable with.

If the system is only 7 years old you can update the software to add remote access to it by means of an addon module, this would be a subscription service .
