Very expensive to advertise on daft.ie, no relation to cost. Pure extortion. Must be very lucrative for the owners.

I did not know that. In fairness daft is a very good site and I suppose lots of people set up websites which are not successful so if someone has a really popular one, a lot of people would make it as expensive as the market will bear.

This only came to my attention recently with all of the discussion on the rip.ie monopoly and how they might change. Daft seem to have the lions share of the property advertising

I want to like myhome but I think its functionality is not as good as daft i.e. continually having to set the search criteria.

Could there be an opportunity for competing sites ?

My home was set up by SherryFitzgerald or one of them. I’d be using Daft if I was looking for property.
