Wifi signal required in garage

    Hi,

I have a LAN cable running from router(in the house) to back of tv in the garage, this is about a 20 metre run. This works perfectly and there are speeds in excess of 100mb when I do a speed test on the tv.

My issue is I don't have any wifi in the garage. I have tried those plug in boosters but the wifi signal is very weak.

What do I need to get whereby the LAN cable from the router to the garage plugs into some kind of a box, this box then would need to have at least 2 ethernet ports(1 for the LAN coming from the house and one to hard wire the signal to the tv via LAN) and also would want to give off a wifi signal.

Is there something I can use in order to have both hard wired and wifi signal to garage?

    Thank you

One idea is to get a simple and cheap switch like the TP-Link TL-SG105S, in amazon for 23 eur.

Then you connect to the switch the TV and a TP-Link wifi extender like the AC750, which extends wifi by ethernet, currently for less than 25 eur.

Surely there are other better ideas. Hope this helps though.

If I may suggest my (elegance solution): I am very happy with:

    1. as it's called, with a wireless bridge between your main router (your home) to the garage

    - 100mbps (more) speed, distance 100m (realistically 1km, more, just did not need

    - nice and slim looking setup, (no ugly metal brackets and any necessity to drill walls or windows)

    - brand new

    2. Any wifi spare router, not extender, (~15€), I'll give you mine for free, no worries, it includes 4 ethernet ports to be consumed in the garage.

I'll configure, deliver, install (you can installed easily yourself with my suggestions if would prefer):

    200€
